I’m a beauty guru

Aug 07, 2023

A PROFESSIONAL injector has listed seven tips to slow down the ageing process around your eyes, claiming that sunglasses are a total must.

Gillian Murray, who's been in the industry for eight years, insisted that skin ageing is ''inevitable'' - however, there are ways to keep the wrinkles at bay.

''Once you have excess skin in your undereye, then really you're not going to do anything about it without having laser or surgery.

''You can put on as many topical things on it or as many gadgets on it - it's not going to go away.''

This, she went on to add in her video, becomes ''even worse'' for those approaching menopause, when the collagen levels also start dropping.

Collagen is essential for ''tight, elastic skin,'' the professional explained.

Luckily, according to the whizz, 42, from Scotland, you can prevent this from happening for a while - and it's all to do with sunglasses, as well as other tips.

The first tip - wearing sunnies. This, the guru said, not only will protect your delicate eyes from photo damage but it will also stop the creasing of the skin.

Sharing her recommendations, Gillian also advised to be ''very gentle'' when cleansing your face or putting on make-up.

''You think it doesn't do anything - but the skin is very thin and can damage easily.''

The 42-year-old also reminded to always use sunscreen, even during the colder winter months when it may not be as sunny.

Gillian urged her fans on TikTok: ''Get into the habit of putting it on before you're make-up.''

Just as important is following a good skincare regimen - and here the whizz advised to use vitamin A creams, as well as antioxidants, such as vitamin C, and retinol.

''There's harmful oxidants in the atmosphere all the time and that causes photo ageing.

''Oxidation damages your cells, so therefore, putting antioxidants on your skin should eliminate some of that damage.''

Another option is visiting an injector - although this might be a little bit more pricey investment.

''Number six - and this is a biggie - don't smoke. You will accelerate your ageing,'' Gillian urged.

Last but certainly not least, she said: ''Keep the area hydrated with topicals, injected skin boosters.

''If you do these things in your 20s, 30s and 40s, your eye area will thank you for it.''

Gillian, who posts under the username @pharm_aesthetic, regularly shares her professional opinion on all things beauty, including her take on nose fillers and Botox.
